Last week, land communication lines were paralyzed for a whole day in my sister’s place. Something went wrong with their telephone line provider. Yes, they only have one provider. It’s a monopoly by a private company.

Anyway, I came to work early because I was finishing a deadline. After a while, I finally finished my reports. That was around nine in the morning. Since it’s still early and I don’t have something to do, while waiting for the ten o’clock meeting when I will be presenting my reports, I went online to check my social network account. But in the middle of what I was doing, the connection was cut. The telephone units had no dial tones. For the whole day, our telephones were not ringing. We communicated with other people through our mobile phones. It still felt different without telephones ringing in the office. We survived the whole day without the telephone and the internet connection. It was peaceful, I guess. :-)
